Below you will find important information for your arrival and your stay at our „Hotel zur Malzmühle“.

baby cot or extra bed

Children till the age of 3 years (in baby cot) and up to 6 years in parents bed are our guests, please inform us whether you need a baby cot.

Extra beds are available on inquiry in some rooms. This service will be charged with 27,00€/night/bed.

breakfast

Normally the breakfast is not included in the room rates (except you will recive an offer with a package from us (only with direct bookings) )If you did not book the breakfast in advance, you can join our Malzmühlen breakfast buffet at the price of € 18.00 per person / day. Breakfast for children up to 6 years is free of charge, up to 12 years we charge €6.00, 12 to 16 years €9.00. From the age of 16 we charge the full price
If you have booked an arrangement, breakfast is included. We serve our Malzmühlen breakfast buffet in the salon

beer tap – rooms with a beer tap

As a special feature, some rooms have a beer tap in the bathroom. There you can tap your own Mühlen Kölsch if you wish. These rooms are in different room categories and can only be booked directly through us on request. The beer is not included in the room price. We charge €49.00 for the beer service incl. one-time 1×5 liter barrel Mühlen Kölsch. We ask for your understanding, however, the beer service must be booked in advance because it is an individual service and is not available on the spot.

cancellation and no-show fee

Certain cancellation times are stored for all trip dates. You will always find these in your reservation confirmation. Non Refundable, Early Bird and Last Minute fares are excluded from free cancellation. The cost of the overnight stay will be charged on the credit card right away after your booking.
For all other bookings we charge 80% of the room rate for cancellations to late and 100% for no-show. We ask for your understanding that we can only accept changes or cancellations in writing (rezeption@muehlenkoelsch.de).

Culture tax (tourism tax)

Since 01.07.2024, the city of Cologne charges a cultural tax on tourist and business stays. This tax is calculated with 5% of the accommodation costs

It is not included in the room rate and has to be paid locally. The tax has to be send directly from the hotel to the tax departement of the city of Cologne.

The Hotel zur Malzmühle is a non-smoking hotel. Smoking in the house is not permitted neither in the corridors and especially in the rooms (not even at the window). Non-compliance will be penalized with 1000€. A maximum of 4 people is allowed to stay in the hotel rooms. External guests must be registered at the reception in advance. Private celebrations of any kind are not permitted. The consumption of brought food or drinks in the rooms is not allowed.

payment

You can pay your hotel costs on the day of departure in cash, by EC card, Visa or Master Card (no American Express). Do we have a cost assumption, we are happy to send the invoice to your company.

pets

For hygienic reasons, no dogs are allowed in our hotel only service dogs. We ask for your understanding.

parking:

Parking spaces are subject to availability and can be booked on request at a price of €25.00/day. As these are limited, we kindly ask you to request a parking space when booking your room.
If the availability in the parking garage is exhausted, we recommend we recommend to chose the following public underground car parks, either opposite our hotel or in the immediate vicinity (see Internet for directions). Be informed, the entry to the garage may not be higher than 1,90m.

There is also the additional option of discounted parking in the Conti multi-storey car parks (e.g. at Heumarkt or Groß St. Martin). This requires the purchase of a “long-term parking card” on their homepage, which may take a little time to be sent after the application, but so that discounted parking is possible in all CONTIPARK multi-storey car parks throughout Germany.

pillows/blanket menu

Your restful sleep is important to us. Therefore, you can choose between 3 different pillow sizes or blankets or all in feahters or down and/or suitable for allergy sufferers. Please let us know your special wishes in advance.

reception

The check-in is possible from 02.00.pm. but you can store your luggage at any time at the reception. On the departure day we ask you to authorize your room not later than 11.00 am. On request Early Check-In at 11.00 o’clock and Late Check Out at 01.00 pm with an additional amount of 25,-€ is possible.

restaurants – Brauhaus & Mühlenbar

In our brewery, regional dishes are served daily from 12.00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (am
weekends until midnight). We would be happy to make a table reservation for you or you can send an e-mail directly to reservierung@muehlenkoelsch.de In the Mühlenbar you can enjoy our delicious Kölsch cocktails from tuesday to thursday from 05.00pm – 0.00, friday and saturday from 05.00pm – 02.00 am, choose from many craft beer varieties, let yourself be pampered with great long drinks (e.g. with our home-made gin) or just drink our delicious Mühlen Kölsch.

Transport by tram, bus or taxi

In the immediate vicinity you will find the stops of public transport in all directions e.g.

tram line no 1 to the west: to Kölnmesse exhibition grounds (2 stops station Deutz Messe)
tram line no 9 to the east: to Rheinenergiestadion (soccer club 1. FC Köln)
tram line o 5: to the cathedral – Kölner Dom
S-line no 13 or 19 to the Cologne airport

taxi station is in front of the Maritim Hotel. If there is no taxi available, we will be happy to call one for you.

sustainability concept – Malzmühle goes green

We pay attention to our ecological footprint and we want to use resources more sparingly. As part of our sustainability concept for the sake of the environment, we therefore refrain from daily room cleaning and linen change for short 2-day stays.
In this way we save a lot of energy, water and cleaning agents, which would otherwise unnecessarily pollute the water. If you want your room to be cleaned, please inform the reception by 10:00 am.
The environment and we say thank you.

In the room you will find some amenities for your body & hygiene. All products used by and come from sustainable production, packaging made of paper or cornstarch, shoehorns or toothbrushes made of bamboo or wheatgrass. If you’ve forgotten something come to the reception to ask.

WLAN – WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS

WLAN is available to our guests free of charge throughout the house. You can find the QR code in the wardrobe, in our guest folder here or in the lobby at reception.
